I have been in the classroom, administration and worked at the district level. Each time I moved up the educational ladder, my hours and stress level grew, but my bank account did not.
When I was searching for alternative careers, I could find anything that fit my education-based skill set. I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck and working over time without compensation. All credit to my lovely wife, she changed my life with a simple text: "Have you ever heard of Instructional Design (ID)? It involves your two loves: Teaching & technology!" I was enrolled in a graduate program a few weeks later. I quickly learned that becoming an Instructional Designer is no simple task.
